The forthcoming work puts mysticism, salutogenesis and psychotherapy in a sound scientific context and presents in detail the latest results from a Swiss study on LSD-assisted psychotherapy. LSD: Return to Clinical Research is based on Matthias Diesch's master's thesis on Swiss psychiatrist Peter Gasser's study of LSD-assisted psychotherapy "in individuals with anxiety symptomatology associated with advanced life-threatening illness." This first clinical study of LSD-assisted psychotherapy in the world in 40 years was co-sponsored by the U.S. Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). The first, theoretical part of this work addresses the three themes of mysticism, salutogenesis, and psychotherapy in the scientific context of psychedelic research. The second part presents in detail the clinical study conducted by Peter Gasser. For this purpose, the collected data from three selected measurement instruments are analyzed and discussed using quantitative, statistical methods. "This book is a story of hope because it honestly discusses both the difficulties and the benefits of LSD-assisted psychotherapy." Rick Doblin
